We are endeavouring to become a different sort of church, as we face these challenging times together. Our website contains a variety of resources to help support you. It will contain recorded reflections, services and also information about all we are doing.
We also want to provide practical care and support for those vulnerable within our community during the time. Please do contact our clergy so we can help or support you in any way.
Retirement of Rev’d Crispin Pemberton – Sunday 21 April 2024
Crispin’s final service as Rector of StowCaple Benefice took place at a packed Sellack church. The sun shone as it was Crispin’s birthday(!), which also helped with parking on the field and socialising outside after the service.
Many thanks to Suzannah for organising and rehearsing a magnificent choir, supplemented by family and friends. The music by Stanford, Handel, Byrd, Berthier and Finzi complemented the service perfectly.
Crispin explored the irony of today’s reading – John: The Good Shepherd and His Sheep – in this his final sermon!
The church had been beautifully prepared by many members of all the churches across the Benefice and special thanks are given to Kathy for preparing a memorable gift for Crispin, as well as to all involved in the preparation of refreshments, particularly Barbara for the gorgeous cake.
